Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dikshit said on Monday that a special session of the UP Legislative Assembly had been convened on October 18.
The special session will have only one sitting.
The state cabinet had recently adopted a resolution in this regard. Following this, Governor Anandiben Patel gave her consent for the special session and the notification was issued on Monday.
President Ram Nath Kovind is likely to address the joint sitting of the UP Legislature. The Speaker, however, said the meeting of the business advisory committee of the assembly would be held soon and it would decide the agenda of the one-day session.
