SP, VHP hand in glove, says Cong

State Congress president, Nirmal Khatri, who is also Member of Parliament from Faizabad, suspects nexus between the ruling Samajwadi Party and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) over the proposed 84-kosi yatra from August 25.

"Why VHP was making a new tradition of this yatra in August again when it was already held in April last. There is enough indication that the SP and the VHP have joined hands to trigger communal violence in the state to polarise  the voters before the lok Sabha elections through this yatra though it has been banned by the state government, " said Nirmal Khatri on Thursday. He said that when the Supreme Court has strictly ordered for maintaining status quo in the Ayodhya matter then why the VHP wasraising the issue over the Ram Temple at this juncture.

RsRsWas this effort of the VHP was not a contempt of the Court," he questioned adding that they VHP leaders themselves  claimed that the Yatra is just for public support to construct  a Ram Temple. He also asked VHP leaders that they should tell that why when Atal Bihari Vajpayee led NDA government was at the Centre than they never take out such Yatra but now they were raising the issue just to use political mileage out of it.

Nirmal Khatri, who is the Congress MP from Faizabad the epic centre of the entire controversy further said that the act of the UP government over the yatra was fishy and it seems that they are trying to polarise the voters on communal lines for their vested interest. He claimed that both BJP and SP were finding it hard to fair well in the next Parliament elections hence they seems to have planned a new move to polarise the vote-bank. However, he supported SP Government’s move to ban the Yatra and demanded that peace should be maintained at any cost in UP. He said it is the duty of the Samajwadi Party government to thwart any move by the VHP to create tension in the State.
