Emphasising on the importance of Samajwadi Party post-lok Sabha elections Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that next political dispensation in the centre would be Third Front and it cannot be formed without the help of SP.
"Third Front will be a reality after lok Sabha elections as people have seen the ugly faces of Congress and BJP. The Samajwadi Party will play an important role in its (Third Front) formation," Yadav said while addressing Desh banao, desh Bachchao rally in Saharanpur on Tuesday. This was the first rally of Samajwadi Party post Muzaffarnagar riot in this belt and Samajwadi Party leaders equivocally talked about the schemes that have launched for the welfare of Muslims. Chief Minister also inaugurated Mahmood Hasan Medical college in Saharanpur - constructed in the memory of famous freedom fighter.
The newly inaugurated medical college would have 500 beds. As many as 100 students would be able to attain education, while 5000 patients would get Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) facility. Elaborating on the success of his Government Akhilesh Yadav said that his Government has fulfilled almost all the promises Samajwadi Party had made during election campaign. "Ours is the only Government that thought of innovative scheme like distribution of laptops among class XII pass students. When we had launched this scheme opposition parties opposed it but now many other governments have copied it," Yadav said.
He also talked about other schemes like distribution of unemployment allowance among jobless youth and introduction of scholarship for girls to continue their studies. "Our Government is pro-farmer, pro-youth, and pro-minority. We have schemes for all sections of the society. Because we Samajwadis know the pain of people and are committed to resolve them," Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said and added that it is Samajwadi Party Government that is giving free treatment and medicines in the state-run hospital.
Without naming Narendra Modi and BJP Yadav said that an attempt is being made by a party and its leader to vitiate the atmosphere of communal harmony. He should realize that the state he represents is very small and he cannot compare two states. "Uttar Pradesh is the only state in India that had galloped to the path of development in last two years. We could have done better but the previous BSP Government used all the money in construction of memorials and parks. Whereas the Samajwadi Party has used every penny of the state exchequer in development of the state," he said.
Samajwadi National Mulayam Singh Yadav dared Gujarat Chief Minister to compete with Uttar Pradesh in launching welfare schemes. "In UP education is free, medicines are free, farmers getting free water for irrigation and Muslim girls are getting scholarship. Is Gujarat Government getting any of these benefits," he asked. "I suggest Chief Minister that people of UP should get free treatment on kidney ailments, cancer, tuberculosis and heart diseases. This hospital in Saharanpur should also give free medicines and treatment as patients in Saifai are getting," he said.
He criticized UPA Government for failure to curb Chinese incursion on border areas. The other developmental projects that Chief Minister inaugurated included water supply scheme at Savitri Bai Phule government polytechnic women hostels at Tatarpur and Salhapur, construction of a railway overbrige at Sharda Nagar chowk, maternity wing at Deoband and Gangoh and a girls college.
