The Samajwadi Party on Monday launched a massive social media campaign to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for inaugurating the Samsung factory in NOIDA.
Modi accompanied by President of South Korea Moon Jae inaugurated Samsung India’s new mobile manufacturing facility at Sector-81 in Noida on Monday evening. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present on the occasion.
With a tagline ‘Kainchi wali Sarkar’, the SP’s campaign highlighted how the BJP governments at the Centre and the state were inaugurating projects initiated during Akhilesh Yadav regime by cutting ribbons.
In a tweet, Akhilesh on Monday said that the production of the largest mobile manufacturing unit was being started but it was during his government in 2016 that all proposals were approved and hence Samsung project was their ‘baby’.
“Yeh kainchiwali sarkar ya to kainchi se samajik sauhard ke dhage kaat rahi hai ya bas hamare kamo ke udghatan ke feete (This is a government of scissors which is either cutting social harmony or ribbons of projects initiated by us),” Akhilesh said in his tweet.
Akhilesh also claimed that the Metro Rail linking NOIDA with Delhi was also constructed during his regime.
The SP chief also posted an old Tweet of October 17,2016 and said,” Would like to thank Samsung for their 2000 crore investment in UP for expansion of their plant through our Industrial Policy.”
The reaction of the SP president came a couple of hour before the PM inaugurated the Samsung factory at Noida.
This is not the first time that the SP reacted strongly to Yogi inaugurating project that was started by the Akhilesh government. Be it the inauguration of lucknow Metro Rail, Magenta line extension of Delhi Metro in National Capital Region (NCR) in December 2017 or lucknow-Agra Expressway and the39 km elevated highway in Ghaziabad.
In June last year, the South Korean giant announced an Rs 4,915 crore investment to expand the Noida plant spread in 35 acres and, after a year, the new facility is ready for production.
The company is currently making 67 million smart phones in India and with the new plant becoming functional, it is expected to manufacture nearly 120 million mobile phones annually.
