Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said that his party would celebrate 'Dalit Diwali' nationwide on April 14, the 130th birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India.
The SP workers will light a 'diyas' at Samajwadi Party offices, their homes, public places or at the statue of Dr Ambedkar to salute him with reverence in every district all over the country.
As per the SP president, the Constitution was in danger during the political 'amavasya' under the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar had given a new light to independent India, hence the SP would celebrate 'Dalit Diwali' on April 14.
