The Samajwadi Party (SP) surrounded Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central government alleging no hard provision to tackle drought situation in the Union Budget.
“In the Budget 2014-15 presented by Union Finance Minister doesn’t contain any serious efforts to tackle the drought situation likely to hit many states including Uttar Pradesh. This shows the insensitivity of Modi government and anti-policies,” said SP Spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary here on Saturday.
He shared that there are reports that 73 percent of western parts of the state. Including other parts of the nation, the figures of poor monsoon indicate that there is danger of drought in the country but still no strong steps were taken to tackle the situation if it arises. “The central government is neither concerned about consequences of the drought nor ready to improve the condition of villages and farmers. Their policies are just like Congress and dedicated to Corporate houses,” he added.
Continuing his remarks on the Union Budget, he said the government wants to close minimum support price system while on the other hands in the name of farmers it wants to promote Agro-Business. The farmers will get loan on 7 percent interest while Agro-Industries will get it with 4 percent interest. It will promote Industries not the farmers. “As per National Crime Bureau in the year 2013 more than 13,000 farmers committed suicide,” he added.
