The Samajwadi Party lashed out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his anti-liquor campaign in the state during his day long visit to lucknow on Sunday.
The ruling party accused the Bihar CM of aiding and abetting the agenda of communal forces in UP with the aim to derail the agenda of development vigorously pursued by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. The SP said that such self-gratifying campaigns like ban on alcohol would immensely benefit the communal forces in UP.
Accusing Nitish Kumar of being hand in glove with the RSS, the SP alleged, "As the Assembly polls are drawing near, the forces of Nagpur, Hyderabad, Patna and Ahmedabad have jointly launched a campaign to spread confusion among voters of UP by raising non-issues and their latest bogey is secular grand alliance and ban on alcohol.’’
"Unki daal yahaan nahi galne wali (tricks of Nitish Kumar won’t work in UP),’’, said SP spokesman Rajendra Choudhary on Sunday.
Referring to the past association of Bihar CM with the BJP, Chaudhary said, "Those pushing the agenda of secular grand alliance today were enjoying the best of both the worlds. Only few years ago they were in cosy company of the BJP. Such leaders have no future in UP as secularism has dug deep roots in the state under Mulayam Singh Yadav.’’
