SP slams Krishna Raj's remarks

Samajwadi party has deplored the Union minister Krishna raj for describing the people who died while standing in queue in Banks and ATMs as corrupt and dacoits. SP has demanded the immediate dismissal of the minister from the Union council of ministers.  Union minister of state Krishna raj in Banda district had said all those who died while standing in the queue were corrupt and `lutera’ and had benefitted from the black money.

Terming  her statement as outrageous and insensitive the ruling party said the Union minister has committed a crime  against  the common people as many of them succumbed while standing in the queue for days together for withdrawing their own money from the banks. The state president of the Samajwadi party Shivpal Yadav said here on Tuesday the minister has insulted the common people, the women, famers and students who suffered huge losses and hardship due to sudden withdrawal of the high value currency notes from circulation.

“Instead of reaching out to the people  and extending them some assistance who were traumatised by then sudden ban on the currency , the statement of the union minister is  most regrettable and the worst example of insensitivity  towards the people’’, said Shivpal  Yadav.  He said the statement of the Union minister reflects the dictatorial mindset of the NDA government   and overall style of functioning of the Union government.

SP leader said none of the people who died in the queue before the banks and ATMS were not well off persons, they were all common people coming from the deprived sections of society who were condemned to live like a beggar due to the sudden ban on the currency imposed by the government.  He said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi should not only tender an apology to the victims of the currency ban, he should also provide financial assistance to the families of the bereaved people.
