Samajwadi Party has slammed the noted author and columnist Ramchandra Guha for his highly critical comments on Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav in his weekly column appearing in several newspapers. Guha criticizing the chief minister for inserting costly advertisement in British newspapers had described the Akhilesh Yadav as ``colossal disappointment’’.

"We want to know from Ram Chandra  Guha whether he is proxy for somebody or he has some his own axe to grind against the chief minister and the Samajwadi party’’, asked the Samajwadi Party spokesman and the minister Rajendra Chowdhary.

"He might have visited UP by default considering NOIDA to be part of Delhi. He seems to be a victim of Google, who neither ever visited Uttar Pradesh nor any village of the state and he is abusing his pen as a columnist in reputed newspapers. This is not only highly objectionable but an insult of the people of the state’’, said Rajendra Chowdhary. On the contrary, Chowdhary claimed that the popularity of the chief minister has grown and his ties with the common people have strengthened in last four years.

Rajendnra Chowdhary said ``it’s not a simple matter, it’s a conspiracy engineered in Delhi to malign the popular chief minister and destabilize his government and both BJP and the Congress were involved in this sinister game against the Samajwadi party’’.

Defending the advertisement inserted by the UP government in a london newspaper Chowdhary said ``What’s wrong in that, after all UP  needs foreign direct investment and we have to reach out to the global investors for that  and  advertising in international newspapers was part of that process’’.  Moreover he said `` this was not done for the first time as similar advertisements in foreign papers were given by the previous regimes also’’.

The SP leader said ever since the formation of the party government in March 2012 a process of positive change is underway in the state and elevation of Akhilesh Yadav as chief minister was a whiff of fresh air in the state after the five year long autocratic and corrupt rule of Mayawati led Bahujan Samaj party government.  He said the chief minister unleashed a new agenda of development in the state for accelerating the development of the infrastructure and rapid industrialization of the state.

He said the chief minister in his unique style of administration decentralized the power structure and process of development in the state and for addressing the problem of regional imbalance in the state large number of projects held up for various reasons were revived. He said as much 75 percent of the budget was being utilized on rural development and the poor and farmers were on the top on the agenda of the chief minister.
