Samajwadi Party has slammed the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for raking up the Ram temple issue even as the issue is sub judice and pending in the Supreme Court.
The SP alleged that RSS has raised the temple issue as part of their calculated game plan to deflect the attention of the people from the failure of the Narendra Modi government and the galloping inflation and rural distress.
Samajwadi Party leader Sahib Singh said here that despite aware of the fact that the status quo prevails in Ayodhya as per the apex court the RSS is talking of temple construction at ayodhya. ``Its an affront to the Constitution and the Supreme Court. I challenge the RSS to lay even a brick in Ayodhya’’, said Sahib Singh, advisor in animal husbandry department with cabinet minister rank.
“Do they want to spread anarchy and destroy the nation by open defiance of the Supreme Court and the Constitution by claiming to build Ram temple at Ayodhya’’, said the .SP leader, also the member of the national executive of the SP. He added `` RSS chief’s statement on Ram temple is not causal remark, it has dangerous portents for peace and harmony in the country’’.
The SP leader said `` let there be no misconception in the minds of the RSS and the BJP, UP is ruled by the Samajwadi party and we know how to deal with such elements. The government will thwart their designs to communal peace ahead of the 2017 assembly elections in the state’’.
“Ram temple, abolition of article 370 and Unifo0rm civil code are the stock issues of the Sangh Parivar and whenever they need to polarize the electorate on communal lines they rake up any of these issues. Mohan Bhagwat talked of review of reservation for the SC and OBCs ahead of the Bihar assembly polls and got a huge blowback. Now elections of UP are a year away so they are back in their old game of raking up the communal issues’’, said Sahib Singh.
The SP leader alleged that RSS has nothing to do with the Hindu dharma or the lord Ram. ``RSS has nothing to do with the Hindus or the religion, their sole objective is to draw political mileage from the issue as much as they can. This is evident from the fact prior to the opening of the locks of the babri masjid in Ayodhya in February 1986 BJP had only two seats in lok Sabha and now they have clear majority in the parliament’’, said the SP leader. He added `` if the Sangh Parivar is so sincere, courage of conviction and committed for the Ram temple at Ayodhya then the prime minister Narendra Modi should bring a bill in lok Sabha to this effect and start the temple construction’’.
The BJP appears to be reluctant to join the issue with the opposition up in arms over the temple issue. ``There is nothing surprising or heaven shaking in the statement of the RSS chief about temple construction in Ayodhya. RSS and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad had been spearheading the campaign for the temple at ayodhya since long and the objections by the opposition parties hold little relevance’’, said Hridya Naryan Dikshit, leader of the BJP in legislative Council.
