The ruling Samajwadi Party hit out at the BJP for demanding a CBI probe into the gang rape ofa owman-daughterduo on the highway in Bulandshahr on Fridaynight.
The party said that before criticising the SP government, the BJP should have referred to the words of appreciation by Governor Ram Naik for prompt follow-up action taken by the CM. The party maintained that both the BSP and the BJP seems to have launched a no-holds-barred campaign to malign the SP and its state government.
SP spokesman and Rajendra Chaudhary said in lucknow on Tuesday that both rival parties are aware of their fate in the 2017 Assembly polls and hence pursuing their politics of hate taking advantage of the heinous incident in Bulandshahr.
Chaudhary alleged, “Both parties are trying to shift attention from fundamental issues and problems faced by the masses. Never before in the history has UP ever witnessed such a low in the agenda of political discourse.”
“Statements issued by the BJP and the BSP leaders on Tuesday indicate the insensitivity of both parties towards human sentiments. Instead of sharing the grief of the victims and their family, both were trying to draw political mileage out of the incident,” said Chaudhary.
Rejecting the charges by the BJP as `pot calling the kettle black’, the SP spokesman said that it (BJP) should analyse the crime data ofDelhi before targeting the UP government.
“The BJP should focus more on the law and order and solving the menace of traffic jams due to water logging in Delhi rather than commenting on the law and order situation in UP,” said the SP spokesman.
