Questioning Akhilesh Yadav Government’s decision to order judicial enquiry into the Yadav Singh corruption case state unit of BJP said that there was an attempt to put the matter in the back burner because it involved many senior leaders in ruling party. State party president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said that whay the Akhilesh Yadav Government was shying away from holding a CBI enquiry into the matter. BJP has asked for setting up of SIT, he said.

“Instead the Government has opted for Judicial probe. Everyone knows what happens with such probe. SP Government has set up judicial probe into Muzaffarnagar riot case and we are yet to get the report,” he said in a statement issued here on Sunday. He said such act of Government gives an indication that it is trying to hush up the matter. If the government wants a judicial probe it should be done by a sitting Judge not by a retired Judge, he said.

Bajpai said that in the recent IAS Week Chief Minister had shown a video clip to the officials asking them not to take bribe. He gives sermon about honesty but his government is working against its own set rules, the BJP chief said. Meanwhile, state party spokesman Dr Manoj Mishra has called Urban Development minister as Rsdramabaz’ for giving statements against Governor Ram Naik. “This is beign done with an aim to win headlines,” the BJP spokesman said.

He said using derogatory language against Governor is like insulting Indian Constitution because Governor is a constitutional post and his name should not be dragged into any political controversy. “Azam Khan should apologise for his behaviour,” he said.
