Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday hit out at the Samajwadi Party, saying that it had no development-oriented thinking and neglected the development of Jalaun considering it a ravine (Bihad).
Addressing a public meeting in Jalaun, Yogi said, "They (SP) have no development-oriented thinking...It's not on their agenda. When they were in power, riots took place everywhere, development was stalled and anarchy had touched nadir. But today, the scenario has changed. Riots and crimes have been replaced by all round development."
The Chief Minister also asked people to remember that freeing terrorists involved in attacking Sri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya were among the first acts of the Samajwadi Party government in 2012. “The difference is clear. Before 2017, when the SP government took the first decision of withdrawing cases against accused of terror attack on Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya and in contrast, the first few decisions that the BJP took after coming to power in 2017, included waiver of farmers' loans," he said.
Taking a dig at the previous government, Yogi commented: “What was the condition of Jalaun five years back ? Mafia and criminals used to harass the public, traders. Earlier land sharks captured the land of farmers, goons used to molest girls/ women, but after the BJP came to power, the land mafia vanished from UP and the criminals are begging for their lives,” he said.
“The previous governments helmed by the SP and BSP left no stone unturned in devastating this region turn by turn. The BJP regime undertook a slew of projects aimed at ending the water scarcity in Bundelkhand. Projects like Arjun-Sahayak and Ken-Betwa linking taken forward by the BJP will provide relief to the people," the Chief Minister said.
Stating that Bundelkhand was given a new chance to develop with each of his visits, Yogi said, "The number of time that I visited Bundelkhand in the last five years, no opposition leader visited the area so much in the last 14 years.. With every visit, Bundelkhand was given a new chance to develop. During my first visit, the foundation of Bundelkhand Expressway was laid which is sety to emerge as the backbone of the region’s development.”
“Dedicated to the all-round progress of Uttar Pradesh, the government policies encompassed development of every category including agriculture, women, youth, entrepreneurs, labourers, health and medical infrastructure and law and order. Besides, the BJP government has completed nearly 12 irrigation projects. The Ken-Betwa project will transform this ravinous area (Bihad) into a heaven on earth," he said. Stating that earlier criminals, goons, miscreants, dacoits and rioters used to dominate Bundelkhand, the Chief Minister said, "The professional criminals earlier used to harass the poor, torture traders and women. But now, they are either langusihing in jails or were outside the boundaries of the state.”
Announcing that tyhe BJP will ensure tablets/smartphones in hands of every youth after March 10, Yogi Adityanath said, "Today, when BJP is distributing smartphones and tablets to 1 crore youth, Samajwadi Party has urged the EC to stop the distribution of these gadgets. This is because SP believes in only the development of the Saifai clan."
The Chief Minister also promised that the BJP will give not only tablets and smartphones but also provide free digital access to 2 crore youth in next five years if voted to power again.Yogi said that the double engine government of UP waived loans of over 58,697 farmers from Jalaun. “Similarly, 2,11,153 farmers of Jalaun are getting Rs 6,000 annually under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Over 36,582 people got houses in the district under the PMCM Awas Yojana," he pointed out.
Accusing the opposition parties of isolating themselves from people during the pandemic, Yogi Adityanath said, "At the time of COVID-19, the Union and state governments and BJP public representatives ventured out to serve people. But all opposition leaders were in home isolation and self-quarantine. When these people did not reach out to you in crisis, they should be asked to keep aloof in elections too," he said.
