Despite Exit polls showing a route for ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh, the SP is nurturing a dream to form third front government leaders as its leaders say that party leaders were in touch with the like-minded secular parties and even with the Congress looking for third option.
“Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav is camping in New Delhi since Wednesday and he along with other leaders are in touch with other parties for formation of an alternative government,”said SP general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Naresh Agarwal here on Thursdsay.
. Agarwal said that party leaders have taken the outcome of these exit polls as a pinch of salt. The real result will come on Friday. We are hopeful to get the required numbers for the formation of the next government, he said.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi too had claimed that her party was in touch with secular parties for the formation of the government.
Agarwal said that Samajwadi Party will play an important role in the post-poll scenario. The ‘bubble’ of BJP and Narendra Modi would burst by Friday evening.
UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said that he did not trust the exit polls and thinks that it was only meant for increasing the sensex. Earlier, on Facebook Akhilesh wrote, ‘lohiaji once said elections are always a festival’.
‘I have thoroughly enjoyed this journey and now I wait for the results. Exit Polls are not the results. They are not the real thing. I believe in waiting for the truth. I believe in waiting for the real results’, Yadav wrote on the social networking website.
Meanwhile, Mulayam Singh Yadav has rushed to New Delhi in the wake of the speculation that SP could emerge as a dark horse if BJP fails to achieve the target.
