Ruling Samajwadi Party has changed its candidate from Sultanpur lok Sabha seat giving ticket to former MP Atiq Ahmed.
SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav in a statement announced the change in the candidature of Shakil Ahmed.
Earlier local SP MlA Abrar Ahmed, a staunch supporter of Urban Development Minister Md Azam Khan, had opposed the candidature of Shakil Ahmed.
Atiq Ahmed, a former MP from Phulpur in Allahabad would be the new candidate now.
