SP live up to people expectation: CM

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that the Samajwadi Party would return to power as the work done in the last four years-and-a-half had helped in bringing smiles on the faces of people.

“People want performance from a government. The SP has lived up to people’s expectations. Compare our work with that of previous governments and you will see the difference,” Yadav told reporters in Jaunpur. He had gone to east UP district to meet family members of martyred cop Santosh Yadav who lost his life in Jawahar Bagh operation at Mathura on June 2.

During his meeting with the martyred cop’s family, the CM expressed his profound condolences and handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to the police officer’s widow.

later, Yadav said that the SP leaders would go to the people with the report card. “I am confident that we will pass the test with flying colours and will form the next government in UP,” he said.

Attacking the BJP, the CM said that the party had failed to fulfill its promises. “Its leader had promised acche din which is nowhere to be found. If people start believing BJP leaders they will be ruined. People have burnt their fingers once and will not repeat their mistake in Assembly polls,” Yadav asserted.

“The BJP is unnecessarily trying to make the Mathura incident and exodus of people from Kairana election issues. These are non-issues. The BJP has failed to find fault in our development work and so it has come up with a formula to defame the SP government,” the CM added.

Yadav opined: “The BJP is trying to sow seeds of hatred and mistrust among impressionable minds. I am sure people will give a befitting reply to this communal party in the coming polls.”
