Indirectly hitting out at Mayawati on the eve of her 60th birthday Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that Bahujan Samaj Party was the most undemocratic party where a person could be thrown out of party for clicking pictures with leaders and posting it on social networking site.
“The act of the BSP leaders is dictatorial and undemocratic and it shows how the blue brigade functions,” he said while addressing a function at Janeshwar Mishra Park where he distributed e-rickshaws to the people here on Thursday.
Yadav said that Samajwadi Party is the only democratic party where party supporters can post photographs with me or other leaders. “You can take selfie with me and post it on Facebook. I donot mind because we believe in democracy and give that freedom to our supporters,” he said.
“And in a party like BSP a party candidate was punished because she posted a picture of her with party’s chief on Facebook,” Yadav, who is also State president of the party, said.
BSP leadership withdrew ticket of Sangeeta Chaudhry after she posted her picture with Mayawati on Facebook. She was seen touching feet of Mayawati along with her children. Sangeeta was to contest election from Attrauli assembly constituency. BSP had earlier given that ticket to her husband but after he expired Sangeeta got the ticket.
CM blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for spreading the new disease of “Selfies”. BJP leaders are also bitten by selfie bug and will face the consequences one day, he said.
Calling upon the party activists to prepare for the Mission 2017 Yadav said that after panchayat polls everyone is waiting for only one electoral battle and that is assembly polls. “We have won Panchayat election in flying colour and need to conquer the last frontier,” he said.
He also criticised the opposition for questioning the development of the state. “These people are criticising us for the sake of opposition. They know about the development schemes government has launched but these leaders are spreading canard against us,” he said.
Chief Minister also talked about the schemes like Metro in lucknow and expressway connecting Agra and lucknow. He also talked about Government’s resolve to improve power scenario and bring poor under social security umbrella.
