Hitting out at the Yogi Adityanath government over the Saharanpur incident, the opposition Samajwadi  has said the BJP has the sole responsibility  for the rising social  and communal tension  in the state as the ruling party had pitched for  Diwali and Ramzaan, Shamshan and Kabristaan during the recent concluded  state assembly  elections.

SP spokesman Rajendra Chowdhary said here on Saturday that "What else can you expect from BJP. What we can expect from the one who had divided the Indian festivals on communal lines and also sought to divide the society on graveyard and crematorium during the UP assembly election campaign’’.

He said the vicious campaign by the BJP during the elections is the root cause of the caste and communal conflict in the state. Moreover he said the BJP has not changed its conduct after coming to power and is vigorously pursuing rabidly communal agenda for dividing the society on caste and communal lines. He said the probe team send by the party to different areas  where incidents of caste and communal  conflict  occurred have said in their reports  that the vicious campaign by the BJP during the elections was the prime cause of tension  and conflict.

SP leader said within 70 days in office the Yogi Adityanath government has created crisis like situation in the state with the rapid deterioration in law and order. He said besides the three major incidents  in Saharanpur in less then a month serious incidents of dacoity in  Mathura, Varanasi, Gorakhpur , gang rape in Allahabad and the gang rape dacoity and murder in Jewar areas of Greater NOIDA have occurred in the state. He said the situation is no better in the state capital lucknow where the incidence of serious crime has become order of the day.

Following the clashes between two communities in Saharanpur, the Yogi Adityanath government   had   suspended the district magistrate and the senior superintendent of police and also shifted the divisional commissioner and the deputy inspector general of police. The Union home Ministry had also sought the report from the UP government over the incidents in Saharanpur.

Rajendra chowdhary said the Samajwadi Party will handover a memorandum addressed to the State Governor to all the district magistrates of 75 districts on May 29 to draw the attention of the Governor towards the rapid deterioration of the law and order in the state.  He said the objective of submitting the memorandum to the Governor is to underline the failure of the BJP government to control the law and order in the state.
