Stressing for the holistic development of the state PWD Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said that Samajwadi Party government had initiated projects for all sections of the society particularly for the poor and the deprived section. “It is Samajwadi Party that has brought castes like Dhangar, Pal and Baghel in Scheduled Caste category. This is done with an aim to bring them in the main stream of the society,” Yadav said while addressing a function In Mainpuri where he had gone to participate in the programme organized on occasion of Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar Jayanti on Sunday.
He said that the government was working for the betterment of backwards and minorities. “We have launched schemes that would benefit improve education standard of the backwards, Scheduled Caste and religious minority. Special health schemes have been launched for these people. What we are looking for is the holistic development of the state where every section of the society has its say,” Yadav said.
Yadav, who is also the irrigation minister of the state, said that SP government said Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar was a secular leader and treated everyone equally during her tenure. “She constructed temples not only in Maharashtra, but in the other parts of the country. This policy of her helped her to rule for over 30 years,” he said. Without naming BJP he said that some communal forces are raising their heads in the country should take lesson fro Holkar’s lives. One cannot progress by dividing the society but can march forward only if we tale all sections of the socieity together,” he said.
He promised development of 23 villages dominated by Dhangar caste people. He also promised to erect a statue of Ahilya Bai Holkar in the park. On performance of Samajwadi Party Government Yadav said that shortage of funds will not affect the development work in the district. He laid the foundation of 60 schemes worth Rs 18718.76 lakhs in Mainpuri.
