Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party regime for the deteriorating law and order in UP, Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti said the state Government was in ICU and would collapse very soon.

“The UP Government has failed to control the crime rate in the state and will not survive for more than a month,” Bharti told reporters at Jhansi during her maiden visit to her parliamentary constituency after her victory in the lok Sabha election.

“Earlier, I had said that the Akhilesh Yadav Government would fall within six months if the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power at the Centre. But, now I think that the state Government will not last for more than a month,” she said.

Firing a salvo at Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav for his remark the rape was a minor mistake committed by youth, Bharti said this statement had in a way encouraged the rapists.

“Yadav is also in a way responsible for the growing rape incidents in UP,” she said.

The BJP MP, however, kept mum on a question on dissolution of Group of Ministers by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

She reiterated her commitment to work for cleaning up the river Ganga and for separate statehood to Bundelkhand  region.
