Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that Samajwadi party government was doing its best in providing help to the drought hit people of Bundelkhand by providing them food and water at their doorsteps.
"We are doing everything to provide relief to the affected people of the region. We are distributing free food grains and other essential items in Bundelkhand," he told reporters after cabinet meeting here on Wednesday.
Opposition parties have attacked Samajwadi Party government saying Chief Minister was apathetic towards
the problems of the people who were reeling under severe drought in Bundelkhand region. Some of the leaders also said that farmers were dying of hunger while Chief Minister was busy in extending lip service.
Yadav said that his government has provided 24x7 electricity in the region so that tube wells can function efficiently. WE have sought help from the centre but we are yet to hear from them, he said.
Yadav also congratulated Congress leader Harish Rawat of Uttarakhand for winning the trust vote in the Floor of the House. "It is the victory of the democracy and for the people who have faith in Constitution," Yadav said.
The decision of the court is commendable as it has helped in restoring elected government in the state. This incident is also a lesson for the government that tried to impose President’s rule because of its numerical strength in the lok Sabha, he said.
"Such win after a long legal battle proves that people of the country have faith on democracy and the Constitution," he said.
