SP Govt failed to curb riots in UP: BJP

Blaming Mulayam Singh Yadav for harping on appeasement policy the state unit of BJP said that Samajwadi party leadership has no right to question Narendra Modi because state had witnessed over 100 communal riots in its less than two year rule.

"Mulayam Singh should first ask his son Akhilesh Yadav as why his Government has failed to control riots. He should first take action against the rioters and then question Modi’s communal credential," BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said here on Monday.

He said that Samajwadi Party’s politics revolve around religion. It works for providing succor to the Muslims at the expense of other members of the community. The SP Government spends more time in releasing terror accused from the jails than providing betters health care facilities at the hospital, he said.

"The Samajwadi party should bring a holistic approach in its governance. Until it does so, it has no right to question others," Pathak said in his statement.

He also blamed SP and Congress for playing politics on Muzaffarnagar riots. "Both the parties are blaming each other. Interesting part is that Congress is heading a government at the Centre and SP at the state and both are in position to provide relief to the riot victims. Instead fulfilling their constitutional duties they are pointing fingers at each other," BJP spokesman said.
