Alleging that the state government was creating hurdles in BJP’s proposed March 2 Vijay Shankhnaad maha rally party’s state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said that on the directives of the Samajwadi party leaders district administration denied permission to hold rally in Smriti Upvan and suggested it should be held at Rama Bai Maidan.
"We have been telling district officials that Rama Bai Maidan would not be big enough to accommodate a crowd of over 15 lakh expected to attend the maha rally. Therefore, we had sought permission to hold rally in a spacious Smriti Upvan but officials denied permission. This was done at the behest of the Samajwadi Party leaders," Bajpai told reporters here on Friday.
He said that this BJP’s March 2 rally would be the biggest and never before rally in the state. People from over the state are expected to attend this rally. The BJP state president also released a letter of ADM - East R.P. Singh of dated Feb 6, 2014 where he gave reasons as why the rally cannot be allowed in Smriti Upvan and said the party should hold rally in Rama Bai Maidan where other political parties too hold their meetings and rallies.
"This rally of ours would not be small raly as organised by BSP and SP. This would be big, very big rally in which at least 10 people from each booth will take part. This rally will break the myth that only BSP can hold big ralies," he said. In her January 15 rally BSP Chief Mayawati had suggested BJP to hold its rally in some small ground as it would not be able to fill Rama Bai Maidan. BJP it seems has taken the challenge literally and has decided to bring 15 lakh people.
This rally would be big can be gauged by the fact that BJP has booked 29 pairs of trains. Buses will come from each districts. People from nearby areas have been asked to bring workers on their vehicles and even on mobikes. "This maha rally will demolish the on-going cocktail between Samajwadi Party and BSP," Bajpai said.
