Advocating people to use electricity judiciously Samajwadi party said the state government was trying to improve power scenario till power generation is improved people should restrict from unnecessary use electricity in daily life.
“The state is passing through a bad phase. There is an acute shortage of electricity forcing the officials of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation limited to go for roistering. In this scenario it is of paramount importance people should use electricity judiciously and restrain from its unnecessary use,” Samajwadi Party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhry said in a statement issued here on Sunday. He said that the Government was committed to provide relief to the people who are facing brunt because of lack of rains. There is an increase in 2000 MW of electricity because of excessive use of air-conditioners.
Instead of state’s share of 6500 MW the state is getting only 5000 MW and this has complicated the issue, he said. “Besides, many of the thermal units have closed down because of paucity of coals. Roza unit has been closed and other units of Anpara, Parichcha and Harduaganj are operating at lower capacity,” he said. “In this scenario responsibility is on the people not to mis-use electricity and use it judiciously. If need be we should also restrict use of air-conditioners,” Samajwadi Party spokesman said.
