SP chief meets Sukhdev Rajbhar

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday met former UP Assembly Speaker and Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Sukhdev Rajbhar at the latter’s residence here.

Rajbhar is the BSP MLA from Didarganj seat in Azamgarh district. Rajbhar is not keeping good health and he has already announced his retirement from active politics and also his support for the Samajwadi Party in the 2022 state assembly elections.

Earlier this month, Sukhdev Rajbhar had written an emotional letter to Akhilesh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati. Rajbhar said his health was deteriorating and he would no longer be active in electoral politics. He had also lambasted the BSP saying “the party has deviated from its mission for the emancipation of the bahujan Samaj”.

Sukhdev Rajbhar had praised the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav and later his son Kamalkant Rajbhar joined the Samajwadi Party. Sukhdev Rajbhar urged Akhilesh Yadav to take his son in his party to strengthen the Dalits and backwards movement.

Rajbhar said that he was upset with the recent development in BSP.

Rajbhar's son Kamalakant Rajbhar is likely to step into the shoes of his father in the coming 2022 assembly polls but from SP.
