Mulayam Singh Yadav said that it was his earnest desire to introduce free education from the primary level up to the university to the students of the country and if voted to power or if his party’s candidates reached the lok Sabha in sizeable numbers, he would ensure that the plan was implemented. He asked UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to set an example in the state by implementing free education for boys and girls from primary to university level.
When Minister for Urban Development Mohd Azam Khan hinted that it would require lot a of money, Yadav cited the proverb "Where there is will, there is a way" and asked Akhilesh Yadav and his Cabinet colleagues present in the rally to go ahead with the project. "The Samajwadi Party must set a trend for others to follow," he added.
