SP blames BJP of dividng state on communal line

In an attempt to cornor BJP the Samajwadi Party said that the Bharatiya Janata Party was trying to disturb harmonious atmosphere of the state to get political mileage and therefore was blowing up small incidents by giving them a communal colour.

“The BJP leadership is planning to orchestrate riots in the state. The party has lost ground and therefore is trying to divide the society on communal lines. The Samajwadi Party government has dealt with such forces with iron hand and will continue to do so in future too,” Samajwadi Party leader and PWD Minister in state government Shivpal Singh Yadav told reporters here on Monday.

He said it is clear from the BJP dharna that people have lost faith on this party. Therefore, it is using all tricks to garner support. Directives have been issued to the police officials to deal with them, he said.

Reacting on BJP’s 24-hour sit in that had started on Saturday and culminated on Sunday Yadav said it would have been better had they held similar dharna outside lok Sabha. “It is the union Government that has stopped flow of funds. These MPs from UP should have protested against their own government in Delhi,” he said.

Giving details of funds released by Centre on various heads Yadav said while the state government had distributed over Rs 3,446 crores to 44 lakh farmers affected by unseasonal rains Centre did not give a single penny. Even the Union Government has failed to repair National Highways. The state highways are much better than national highways, he said.

“This is the truth. This is the true face of BJP leadership who have excelled in rumour mongering,” he said and added: BJP is unnecessary raking the issue of law and order whereas the fact is it is better than MP. People feel safe here than in the BJP-ruled states.

Yadav said it is because of improvement in law and order entrepreneurs are now looking towards UP as next destination. Even the tourist flow has increased. It is better for the BJP not to spread a canard against the state government, he said.
