Accusing the Samajwadi Party of being biased towards a specific caste, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pointed out that when the recruitment process is compromised on the lines of caste and money, the state has to suffer worse consequences.
Stating that corruption and nepotism in recruitments were things of the past, Yogi said, “During Akhilesh’s tenure as UP chief minister, recruitment used to take place on the basis of caste and money, without looking at the merit. There was always casteism-nepotism in appointments. When the result of deputy collector was declared under the SP rule, then you must have seen that out of 86, the names of 56 people belonged to a particular caste.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Wednesday, launched Akanksha Peti in UP’s No. 1 campaign -- ‘Sujhav Aapka Sankalp Hamara’ programme. For the 2022 assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party will keep Akansha Peti at 30,000 places in villages and urban areas of the state.
Escalating the attack on the erstwhile Samajwadi Party government, the chief minister said, "Between 2012 and 2017, appointment letters of government posts in UP were distributed among the members of a family. One appointment process was looked after by an uncle and the other was allotted to a nephew, maternal uncle, or maternal grandfather."
Comparing the SP with the characters of Mahabharata, Yogi said that as Kaka-Mama-Nana completely halted the progress of India during Mahabharata, in the same way, this family (Samajwadi Party) remained an impediment to the progress of the state.
Sharpening the scathing attack during an event in Lucknow on Wednesday, the chief minister said, "Before 2017, people used to point fingers at Uttar Pradesh but today under Bharatiya Janata Party's rule, UP has undergone a complete transformation and its perception before the country and across the globe has changed.”
The current government has given government jobs to more than 4.5 lakh youths in Uttar Pradesh with full transparency and the process will be continued further, he added.
Asserting that development was never the agenda of the previous government, the chief minister said that before 2017, there were two expressways in UP, there was no Metro in any city but today, the state had constructed many highways and expressways.
“Currently, Uttar Pradesh has eight operational airports, while 13 airports and seven airstrips are being developed. There have been no riots since 2017 and strict actions have been taken against the mafia and criminals during the current regime,” he pointed out.
Before the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP had not released a manifesto, like the opposition parties, but had issued a Sankalp Patra, he said.
“Manifesto issued by the opposition parties get sidelined with time. But BJP's Sankalp Patra is for public welfare and national welfare,” the chief minister said.
He said earlier, the opposition used to open fire on the farmers, but the BJP government waived the loans of farmers to get them out of debt.
He said cow slaughtering, cattle smuggling and illegal slaughterhouses used to be the hallmarks of previous governments but as soon as the BJP came to power in 2017, all illegal slaughterhouses were closed.
“Our government worked for cow protection. Under the Mukhya Mantri Besahara Gauvansh Sahbhagita Yojana, the state government gives Rs 900 per month to those who volunteer to take care of stray cattle,” the chief minister said.
