The Samajwadi Party attacked the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party as Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared the dais with his MoS Home Ajay Mishra Teni on the inaugural day of All India DGs/IGs conference on Friday. The premier function is currently underway in Lucknow and will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
Teni’s son Ashish Mishra is the prime accused in a case wherein four agitating farmers were mowed down by a convoy of SUVs driven by Ashish and his cronies in Tikunia area of Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3. Ashish and alongwith a dozen cronies are presently incarcerated in Lakhimpur Kheri District Jail.
Hitting out at Shah, SP spokesperson and MLC Sunil Singh Sajan tweeted, “Amit Shah, who can detect criminals with binoculars, shared the stage with ‘their’ father at DG conference in Lucknow. When the Home Minister of the country is sharing a stage with the father of a prime accused then what is the meaning of police in front of criminals and why is such DG conference needed at all, Modi ‘ji’?”
