Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi will be on a day’s visit to her Parliament constituency of Amethi to attend a meeting of District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee on Saturday.
The last time Sonia visited the district was on June 2016. Sources said that Priyanka Vadra Gandhi, might also accompany her mother though no official confirmation was made in this regard.
Besides attending the meeting, Sonia Gandhi will also inaugurate various schemes from MP’s discretionary fund at Bhuemau guest house and meet party leaders. This was informed by Gandhi’s representative Kl Sharma at Rae Bareli on Friday evening.
“Sonia Gandhi will be on a day-long visit to her constituency on February 24. During the visit, she will attend the meeting of District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee,” Sharma informed media persons.
Sources said that Sonia will also lay foundation stone of schemes under Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) along with Sulabh Sauchalya, Baraat Ghar, Dharamshala, RO Plant etc.
