Efforts of parents to put their drug-addict son to live a normal life proved fatal for a family, when agitated over not getting drugs, the son fatally hacked his parents along with an auntin Etawah early Tuesday morning. The neighbours nabbed the assailant and handed him over to the local police.
As per reports, Deepkant of Basrehar (Etawah) was into drugs and did nothing for livelihood. His parents were trying to force him to give up addiction and live a normal life. Finding no other way, the parents married Deepkant off in January this year with the hope that it would make him responsible and would motivate him to find some work. However, Deepkant refused to mend his ways.
Recently, Deepkant tried to sell his wife’s ornaments to buy drugs after which his parents stopped all finances to prevent him from purchasing drugs.
Desperate to buy his daily dose of drugs, Deepkant attacked his aunt Kamla Devi (50) with a sharp edged weapon killing her on the spot. When his mother Javitri Devi (55) intervened, she too met the same fate. After his father Nahar Singh (60) rushed back home from fields after learning of the incident, the assailant attacked him too. Some neighbours who heard the shriesk of the victims rushed to the spot and nabbed Deepkant before handing him over to the cops. A case was registered and Deepkant was sent to jail.
Meanwhile in Muzaffaranagar, ditched by her lover, a 15-year-old girl committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at Shahpur locality.
As per reports, a minor girl was in love with a 20-year-old youth residing in her neighbourhood. When their families opposed their affair, both decided to elope and get married. As per the plan, the girl left her home and reached the rendezvous but the boy refused to elope at the last moment. Upset with the refusal, the girl returned home, wrote a suicide note holding the boy responsible for her death and later torched herself after soaking herself with kerosene. Her family members rushed her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The police later booked the 20-year-old lover for abetment to suicide and trying to nab him.
