Holding the United Progressive Alliance government responsible for the Chinese aggression, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said the situation on the border was very critical but the Congress-led regime at the Centre had no courage to act against it.
"The Indian government has ignored my repeated warning about Chinese aggression and now the country is facing a critical situation even when, as everyone knows, the Indian Army has the capability to face any situation," the SP supremo said While addressing an 'intellectual sammelan' of party leaders here on Friday.
"I don't understand why the Indian government is so hesitant in protecting the country's interest," Yadav said, adding that "this weak government is sending its External Affairs Minister Salman Khursheed to China to 'beg' before them to get back our land".
"I don't think that China will give our land back as they (the Chinese) are unreliable and cannot be trusted," he said. "China is now inciting our neighbours against us. They have already set up their base in Nepal and are now influencing Pakistan and Sri lanka against us," Yadav said.
The SP supremo said the present UPA government had failed in its foreign policy and the Chinese aggression proved the weakness of the Congress-led government.
