It could be beginning of a new relationship between Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh as Singh is all set to attend the function of the Samajwadi Party on the occasion of the birth anniversary of socialist leader Janeshwar Mishra here on Tuesday.
This would be the first time Amar Singh would attend a function of the SP which he left on 6 January 2010.
Singh confirmed his participation in the function as he told The Pioneer on telephone that he has been personally invited by Mulayam Singh Yadav for the function.
‘’I cannot ignore Mulayam Singh Yadav, who is my political the guru. You can call me Mulayamvadi, not Samajwadi,’’ he said.
Political observers feel that if Amar Singh’s participation in the function could help in breaking ice and there could be thaw in relations between Amar Singh and Yadav Sr.
Singh parried all questions about his return to Samajwadi Party but said: “I am going to lucknow because I have been invited by Mulayam Singh ji. This is enough for me.”
Singh had resigned from party posts in Jnauary 2010 and on February 2 he was expelled from the party. After that Amar Singh had announced that he will never associate himself with the SP at any cost. He also floated a new political outfit Rashtriya lok Manch.
But Singh contested last lok Sabha elections on the Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) ticket in alliance with the Congress.
SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav are slated to inaugurate Asia’s largest garden on the name of Janeshwar Mishra park here in the Gomti Nagar area.
