A sub-inspector was fatally shot by a colleague at Bibinagar police station of Bulandshahr late on Friday night.

Ironically, instead of ensuring timely treatment to his colleague to save his life, the accused sub-inspector fled the city but was later arrested from Ghaziabad.

As per reports, Sub-Inspector Brajendra Singh was sleeping in his quarters inside Bibinagar police station when Sub-Inspector Narendra Singh barged into his room and fired at him with his service revolver, hitting Brajendra on his head.

Narendra later rushed the victim to a private hospital in his car but fled the hospital after doctors said the victim was critical.

In the absence of specialised treatment, Brajendra died some time later.

At the hospital, the accused sub-inspector maintained that his revolver went off while he was cleaning it

The accused sub-inspector later left Bulandshahr in his car but since an alert had been sounded, he was intercepted in Masuri police station area of Ghaziabad.

Brajendra Singh was a native of Jalalabad village in Muradnagar area of Ghaziabad. His body was handed over to his family members after registering a case.
