The crisis in the ruling Samajwadi Party triggered by a threat by senior leader Shivpal Yadav of resigning from the cabinet and join the Opposition ranks over deteriorating law and order seems to have blown over.
A day after, Shivpal Yadav said that there was no dispute either within the party or the government which is functioning smoothly. He also chose to strike down any differences with the Chief inister over any issue.
``Ham mann ki baat nahi karte hain.Mann ki baat to Modijee karte hai. Hum dil kee baat karte hain .., said Shivpal Yadavon Tuesday
``There is no question of any dispute with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as I have been speaking against the involvement of party leaders in all kinds of illegal activity including land grabbing,’’ said Shivpal.
“Very soon, the state government will launch a campaign against encroachments and all those who are found to be involved in illegal activities will be brought to justice,’’ he promised.
Shivpal Yadav, who was in Etah to distribute Kanya Vidya Dhan to school girls on Tuesday, said that whatever Mulayam Singh desires or indicates was tantamount to an order for him. He also said that decision on the QED’s merger would be taken by the party president.
Yadav said that some officers were not listening to him and they were not even doing justice to the people and hence the government will take appropriate action against them.
Shivpal praised Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav saying that the government was doing good work and the people by and large were satisfied with the government’s performance.
Even as Yadav tried to fire fight by paying down the intra family crisis, party sources said that the dispute is likely to grow further as the party brass has decided in favour of merger with Mokhtar Ansari’s Qaumi Ekta Dal. (QED).
Akhilesh Yadav, on his part, is vehement opposed to the idea of the merger with QED due to the presence of tainted leader like Ansari.
While Shivpal said that any decision on the QED merger by Mulayam Singh would be acceptable to him and party leaders, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav too aired the same vein saying, “Aask Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) on the issue.”
In June last, the SP Parliamenatary Board had scrapped the decision of merger of QED as the CM was opposed to the idea. Besides, the CM has also sacked senior minister Balram Yadav on the day the merger, for playing a key role in negotiating the deal.
Earlier speaking at a function to mark Independence Day o Monday, Mulayam Sngh praised Shivpal as the most hard-working member of the party in presence of CM Akhilesh Yadav. He also cautioned the cadre that if Shivpal quit, it would be a disaster for the party as no one would be able to stop it from splitting. The SP chief had also said that if there was any split within the party, then he would be with Shivpal.
Without naming anybody, Mulayam said that his younger brother was being deliberately hounded in the party. He asked his son Akhilesh to take action against those who are not listening to him and bringing disrepute to the party.
