A day after Mulayam Singh declaring that chief minister will decide over the re-induction of Shivpal Yadav in the cabinet, the state president of the party on Wednesday vacated his official residence on Kalidas marg, close to the official residence of Akhilesh Yadav. The move of Shivpal Yadav is a clear indication that rapprochement between the uncle and the nephew is unlikely. Earlier in September Chief Minister had stripped Shivpal Yadav of important portfolios like PWD and irrigation and later he was dismissed from the cabinet on October 23.
light commercial vehicles were used to ferry the household goods of Shivpal Yadav from Kalidas Marg to his private residence on Vikramaditya Marg near the state office of the party. Earlier in the morning, in an indication that he does not want to be taken back in the state government, Shivpal’s staff began removing his ministerial name plate from his official residence. later in the day Shivpal Yadav also met his elder brother and party president Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Shivpal, the senior minister in the four-and-a-half years-old Samajwadi Party government, had surrendered his official vehicle fitted with red beacon lights on Sunday itself.
The move is being seen in political circles as Shivpal’s snub to attempts by his nephew Akhilesh to broker a deal with party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, in which he had reportedly sought revocation of Ram Gopal Yadav’s expulsion from the party in lieu of the re-entry of Shivpal and three others — Om Prakash Singh, Narad Rai and Shadab Fatima — into his cabinet.
While Mulayam had initially asked Akhilesh to reinstate the sacked ministers, the Chief Minister refused to yield to the diktat forcing the SP supremo to tell reporters on Tuesday that he had left the matter to the discretion of Akhilesh Yadav. Former Tourism Minister Om Prakash Singh, one of the ministers shown the door, who was sitting by the side of Mulayam during his press conference on Tuesday, left in a huff when the SP chief made this statement.
Shadab Fatima, the minister of state who was also expelled along with shivpal Yadav on Sunday also announced to vacate her official bungalow on Thursday.
Meanwhile Shivapl Yadav left for Delhi on Wednesday. He is likely to hold talks with the Rashtriya lok Dal chief Ajit Singh to carry forward the negotiations already underway for the pre poll alliance for the 2017 assembly elections. He is also likely to meet the Congress leaders in Delhi to explore the possibilities of the alliance. The Congress has already clarified its position to support Akhilesh Yadav government if the need arises for the floor test to prove its majority in the assembly.
SP sources said Shivpal Yadav will also visit Saharanpur on Friday to participate in the first death anniversary of the former party MlA from Deoband and minister of state Rajendra Singh Rana. In the by election held in Deoband seat, the seat was wrested by the Congress from the SP in February this year.
