Predicting a resounding victory for Samajwadi Party, senior leader Shivpal Singh Yadav said that BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and party’s national president Rajnath Singh would suffer humiliating defeat in this election.
"The Varanasi election election will prove a waterloo for Modi. People will vote against BJP and Modi will face humiliatinmg defeat there," Yadav said while addressing reporters here on Saturday. Yadav criticised the Gujarat model of Modi and claimed that it was nothing but a bunch of anti-people policies. ''While in UP this year we have produced 13 lakh tonnes of additional foodgrains but in Gujarat there is a deficit of 8 lakh tonnes. It is the real picture of the Gujarat development,'' he said.
When asked about BJP claim of wave and tsunami in its favour Yadav said: "There is neither any tsunami or wave of BJP in the country or in Uttar Pradesh. The poll results will ex[pose the canard being spread by the BJP leaders."Yadav claimed that BJP was frustrated with the defeat hence they were raking up rigging allegations in Ferozabad and Etawah elections. ''EC is free to probe BJP allegations as polling were held in free and fair manner,'' he said.
Meanwhile, a Congress municipal corporator in lucknow Sunita Yadav joined the SP in his presence.
