Senior minister in the SP government, Shivpal Singh Yadav directed officials to regularly listen to the problems of people and try to redress them then and there.

“The priority of the government is to extend all possible help to the people. The officials should fix a time for meeting people regularly so that they do not have to come to lucknow with their woes,” Yadav said during a Janata Darshan programme held at party office in lucknow on Friday.

People complained that officers at the districts were not meeting them regularly. “This is important for officers to meet people. If the problems of people could be solved at their districts they do not need to come to state capital. This is sheer waste of time and energy,” he said.

Yadav also spoke to officers who were not listening to the people. He also asked police officers to register FIRs against the guilty and improve the law and order scenario in the state.

“Government will not tolerate any laxity on the law and order front and officers have been told that criminals be strictly dealt with. The people have given us a mandate to improve law and order. We have controlled crime to a large extent and will not allow criminals to take law in their hand,” he said.

Yadav assured the people that the SP government was committed to helping people and the officers found wanting in implementing government orders would be strictly deat with.
