Aiming to increase interaction with the masses, senior minister in the Akhilesh Yadav cabinet, Shivpal Singh Yadav launched his website where people can lodge their complaints for quick redressal while he can make them aware about government’s policies. Yadav also launched a twitter handle and Facebook page to reach out to the netizens to get feedback on projects and policies handled by various ministries under him.

“This is digital age. The internet, smart phones and computers have shrunk the world. People from far flung areas can now lodge their complaints with the click of a mouse. This in turn will help us to learn about what is happening in say Mahoba or Sonebhadra. The gvernment can fix the problem in the shportest possible time,” Yadav told reporters after the launch of the website and social sites in lucknow on Tuesday.

The minister said that he had asked his website and twitter handler to introduce interactive chat-cum-grievance forum ‘ Ihope’ for the rural people to register their grievances. “The government will try to redress them at the earliest,” he said.

Stressing the need for launching such websites, Yadav said that it would ensure transparency in working. “These social sites will help the government and the people to know about each other better,” he said adding: “The twitter handle and Facebook page will be used to inform people about various projects and policies of the government. The same platform can be used by the common man to approach me with their problems, complaints, suggestion and feedback.”

The senior minister said that he would personally interact with the youth and seek their suggestions for good governance. “I urge the people of the state to make use this platform to guide us. If need be they can tell us where we are wrong so that we can rectify our mistakes,” he said.

Yadav said that the SP government has brought prosperity in the state. Even if there is has been scant rainfall in Bundelkhand, there is greenery there because of irrigation facilities made available there. “Our government has linked district headquarters with four lane roads. We are building the Agra-lucknow Expressway. Irrigation facilities have been improved. New power sub-stations have been set up. The SP government has transformed the lives of the people,” he claimed.
