Shivpal asks Mayawati to check her language

Published on:

Issuing a warning to Bahujan Samaj Party president  Mayawati, Samajwadi Party's senior leader and PWD  Minister Shivpal Singh  Yadav asked her to exercise  restrain on the language she used against her political   opponents and stop from inciting the ruling   party workers  otherwise the situation could go out of hand.

"The Samajwadi Party workers are a disciplined lot. If they  are called 'goonda', they may react in a different way and   even call  her a 'goondi'," he told reporters here on Monday. Yadav said the Samajwadi Party government had never  acted to settle political   scores. Had it done so, Mayawati  and her brother would have been behind the bars by now."The BSP president is repeatedly calling the ruling  partymen as 'goondas'. She should exercise restraint on her  language," he added.

Yadav was reacting to the allegations levelled by Mayawati  against the SP government when she said that ruling party  workers  were 'goondas' and the state government was   acting in a partisan manner. She even said that when her  party would return to  power she would teach the  Samajwadi Party goons a lesson.

"There is no political vendetta in SP government's action.  The government is trying to enforce the law of the land.  What can we   do if BSP ministers, legislators and workers  are corrupt and had made money during the last regime.  Action needs to be taken against them," Yadav said.

He said how could the BSP leader compare the law and  order scenario during her tenure with that of the present  regime. "Has   the forgotten the Sheelu Nishad case or the  Sonam case. Over half a dozen BSP ministers were sent to  jail during the last regime  for their involvement in crime. In  Auraiya, an engineer was beaten to death because he  refused to give money for the Chief  Minister's birthday.

Two CMOs were killed in broad-daylight while a deputy  CMO was killed inside district jail. The morale of the  officials was so low   that a senior IAS officer was forced to commit suicide," he added.

Yadav also said that the BSP president was the biggest  "land mafia" as she had grabbed land in lucknow as well  as in New  Delhi."Mayawati says she will teach SP workers a lesson if her  party returns to power. She is daydreaming. She will never  come to power for at least one decade," Yadav predicted.
