Shah has a dig at SP-BSP alliance

Hitting out at regional parties for joining hands and forging an alliance agains the BJP, party president Amit Shah said that those parties had a proven record in corruption and hence they came together because of the fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Corrupt and casteist parties have formed an alliance. These parties have only regional presence and have joined hands in fear of Modiji. In 2019 elections, the BJP will get a thumping majority in UP, get 74 seats and Modi will become PM again," Shah told booth level in-charges during separate meetings in Bulandshahr and Aligarh on Wednesday.

"When Sonia Gandhi left Congress presidency, you knew that Rahul Gandhi would take up that post. But can you say who will become the president of BJP after me ? This is the BJP which believes in democracy," Shah said while adding that a tea seller’s son becoming PM is the true reflection of a democracy.

Shah said, "In 1982, I was a booth worker pasting BJP’s posters in Gujarat. The BJP has made a booth worker like me as the national president of the party. A tea seller’s son became PM. This is possible only in the BJP. In contrast, there is a party which believs only in dynasty.”

Talking about Ram temple, the BJP chief said that the BJP wanted the temple at that same spot in Ayodhya and there should not be any confusion.

"Now, Ram Janam Bhoomi Nyas has asked for return of 42 acres of land near the disputed site. Do Congress, SP, BSP want the temple at that site ? They should make their stand clear. As the Ram temple case comes up for hearing in Supreme Court, Congress leaders try to push it back. They tried to threaten the judges too," he alleged.

Hitting out at the Congress president, Shah said that Rahul baba was asking the BJP to give its report card. "I want to ask what Congress did in its rule of over 50 years. Modiji’s govt gave toilets, gas connection, Mudra bank loans, houses, electricity to crores of people who did not have it and brought respect to the poor and women. But what did Congress do in the past 70 years," he asked.

Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought 129 schemes for the welfare of the people but the biggest work was to ensure security of the country.

"For 10 years, it was Rahul Baba’s govt. The aunt and nephew (referring to BSP’s Mayawati and SP’s Akhilesh Yadav) supported them. Alia, Mallya, Jamalya and such people used to enter this country through Pakistan and explode bombs and there was nobody to stop them or eliminate them. In fact, nobody was concerned about catching them or acting against them. The Pakistanis had a habit of attacking us in Mouni Baba’s (referring to former PM Manmohan SIngh) time. One day, Pakistani terrorists killed 12 jawans in Uri. But this time it was not Mouni Baba’s govt. It was the government formed by the firm beliefs of Bulandshahr’s jawans. Modiji ordered surgical strikes within 10 days. What happened everyone knows,” he said.

In Aligarh, Shah raised questions about Mamata’s protest saying that money of poor people was embezzelled in the name of Sharada Chit Fund scam. "Many leaders were arrested but Mamata never sat on dharna. Now she is sitting on a dharna to save a police officer. How long can this go on? TMC workers are killing BJP workers,” he said.

The BJP chief said, "Mamata Banerjee has stopped Yogi’s helicopter. Why is Didi stopping BJP workers ? We would win 23 seats in West Bengal."

Hitting out at the SP-BSP, Shah said ,"Bua -bhatija might come together and can also rope in Rahul Baba butthat will not stop the BJP from getting 74 seats in UP."

On the occasion, the BJP chief also gave pep talk to booth in-charges saying that they were responsible for the party’s victory.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and UP Lok Sabha in-charge and Union Health minister J P Nadda also addressed the workers.
