Samajwadi Party claiming to be the true legatee of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar , has flayed the BSP and the BJP president Amit Shah for making an issue out of the controversial statement by the senior minister Azam Khan against Baba Sahab. Amit Shah has announced to stage a dharna here on September 16 to protest against the recent derogatory remarks against Dr Ambedkar by Azam Khan.
The ruling party alleged that both the BJP and the BSP have pathological hatred for Azam Khan and the BJP particularly spews venom against Azam Khan. SP alleged that both the parties’ wants to create anarchy in the state by deliberately twisting the statement by Azam Khan about Dr Ambedkar. SP said the BJP is particularly aiding and abetting lawlessness in the state under the cover of protest demonstration.
Rajendra Chowdhary, party spokesman and cabinet minister said here on Monday that the Dr Ambedkar and his ideology has been natural ally of the socialists. `` During his first term as chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav renamed the Vidhan sabha marg as Dr BR Ambedkar road and launched Ambedkar village scheme covering 10,000 villages in the state and Azam Khan following the footsteps of Dr Ambedkar spearheaded the struggle of social justice for the emancipation of dalits and socially disadvantaged sections of the society’’, said Chowdhary.
Alleging that the maximum .number of atrocities against the dalits occurred during the BSP government in UP, the SP leader said `` BSP had always been partisan against the muslims as she had actively campaigned for the then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi during the assembly elections in that state’’.
Accusing the BSP and the BJP of conducting vote bank politics SP spokesman said ``both the parties were ideologically bankrupt and bereft of any issue to target the SP government so they were spearheading the campaign to malign the Samajwadi party government and advancing their own vote bank politics’’.
Rajendra Chowdhary said sole agenda of the BJP is to mobalise the votes by spreading communal hatred. He said ever since the formation of the SP government led by Akhilesh Yadav, the BJP is trying hard to make UP as another laboratory for Gujarat like violence.
