Several senior leaders of the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress joined the Bharatiya Janata Party along with their supporters here on Monday.
Among the prominent leaders who joined the BJP were SP MLC Ramesh Mishra (Hamirpur), former UP minister and senior SP leader Shiv Kumar Beria (Kanpur Dehat), SP MLA from Dhaurhara Bala Prasad Awasthi (Lakhimpur) and former state president of Yuva Jat Sabha and ex-national general secretary of Youth RLD, Rahul Dev (Meerut).
Former BJP state president and chairman of the party’s joining committee, Dr Laxmikant Bajpai, while welcoming the leaders said that once again with the resolve to form the BJP government, they should reach the people of the state under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
"All of you should reach your respective areas and work closely with the district leadership of the party and play your role in forming the government for the welfare of village, poor, farmer and youth", he told the new entrants.
