Sensational killing of head priest of a temple of Ayodhya in Gonda which also spread tension in the area has been orchestrated by one of his junior colleague just to grab the top position of the Ashram. The above facts came to light after Gonda police arrested one of the priest along with four of the shooters who executed the murder.
Disclosing the breakthrough made in the murder case of 77-year-old Baba Ramdev Das (77), IG (law and order) Amrendra Sengar, claimed that Gonda police arrested Baba Sagar Das, who is also priest of “Ayaram Akhara” of Ayodhya, along with four criminals identified as Rajesh Prajapati, Krishnamani Dubey, Suryamani Dubey and Akhilesh Pander, all hailing from Tarabganj locality of Gonda, on Wednesday morning. Briefing media persons here on Wednesday evening, Sengar said that Sagar Das confessed of the crime and disclosed that he wanted to became head priest of Ayaram Akhara in Ayodha in place of Ramdev Das so after finding no other way, he decided to remove him from the scene.
Sengar claimed that according to Sagar Das, he orchestrated murder of Ramdev with the help of above four shooters whom he promised to pay a supari of Rs 4 lakh after completion of work. The accused claimed that Rs 30,000 was paid in advance. later as per the plan, Ramdev has been called to take part in a religious function at Gonda and was subsequently sprayed with bullets when he was going to attend call of nature on last Thursday.
It may be mentioned that some unidentified assailants sprayed Baba Ramdev Das, head priest of Ayaram Ashram of Ayodhya in Puredeel hamlet of Begumganj area of Gonda on last Thursday morning. Ramdev Das, had visited along with his disciples to take part in a religious programme in Jhalidham Mandir at Begumganj in Gonda when the sensational incident took place.
