Senior BJP leaders decided to skip the SWC meeting

Even as party leaders have called the one-day State Working Committee meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party to be held on Friday as crucial the senior leaders have decided to give it a skip taking the sheen away from this meet.

Party’s state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai would preside over the working committee meeting. Party’s UP in-charge Om Mathur will also attend the meeting.

Interestingly, senior party leader including ministers in Union Cabinet will not attend this meet. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who will arrive here for three day visit too will not attend this meeting.

A minister told The Pioneer that probably no one has been invited. As far as I am concerned I am not invited in this meeting, he said on telephone from New Delhi.

“This meeting is meaningless because this is being held under the apprehension that laxmi Kant Bajpai would be removed for his non-performance. This is probably another reason that no one is taking this meeting seriously,” he said.

The party leaders are expected to have a threadbare discussion over party’s chances of forming government post 2017 elections. Possible alliance with other parties would be discussed.

There would be political resolution followed by economic resolution. Both the resolutions would be discussed at length, party source said.
