Security has been strengthened following threat to lives of Hindu right-wing leaders, particularly in temple town- Ayodhya. The threat came to the fore during the interrogation of two ultras arrested by the Delhi police two days back.

The police said that the two were tasked with carrying out targeted attacks on the right-wing leaders. Ayodhya CO Shailendra Gautam said an alert has been issued and all the vehicles are being checked.

“Police are checking vehicles at the entrance of Ayodhya Dham. People coming to Ayodhya are allowed in only after their IDs are checked. Intensive checking is being carried out in mutts, temples of Ayodhya and Ram Janmabhoomi Marg,” the CO said.

Acharya Satyendra Das Maharaj, chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, said the terrorists conspiring attack on the Ram temple would be eliminated.

“Lord Hanuman is sitting here like a king protecting the world. Our security is tight. There was an attack on Ram Janmabhoomi in 2005 and five terrorists were killed. Later, an RDX-filled cooker bomb was found at Hanuman Garhi and it was deactivated. The terrorists conspiring to attack the Ram temple will be killed,” he said.

On January 15, the Delhi Police had arrested two alleged terrorists — Jagjit Singh and Naushad Ali — tasked to carry out targeted attacks on Hindu right-wing leaders.
