The State Election Commission has started preparating for the elections of Urban local Bodies slated after the Assembly polls in mid-2017 .
SEC S K Agarwal said that the process for revision of electoral rolls has been started from Wednesday and a final publication of voters list would be made on September 10 next. He said elections are slated to be held in June next year after the UP Assembly polls.
There are around 630 urban local bodies in the state which includes 13 corporations, 194 nagar palikas and 423 nagar panchayats
As per the schedule of roll revision announced by the SEC, Booth level officers (BlO) and other employees of government will hold a door-to-door survey for registering names in the list between June 15 to July 25 next.
A draft publication of voters list would be done on August 18. After completing the claims and objections, the final voters lists would be published on September 10 next.
