Hitting out at Mayawati for her visit to Katra village in Badaun, Samajwadi Party said after state government has recommended CBI probe into the matter the BSP national president’s visit aimed to get political mileage.

“Mayawati is shedding crocodile tears on the name of dalits. Her visit was aimed at to get political mileage. Otherwise how can she justify her visit when Government has taken prompt action against the guilty,” SP spokesman rajendra Chaudhry said in a statement issued here on Sunday.

He said that the last BSP regime was the most lawless. Many ministers and legislators were sent to jail and that time Mayawati had tried to protect them. Instead, Akhilesh Yadav Government has immediately taken action against the criminals and when family members asked for CBI probe the state government recommended the same in a jiffy, he said.

“The Samajwadi Party Government is committed to work for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden. We believe that State can progress only if there is peace. The SP Government has brought crime under control,” he said.

When asked about Mayawati’s demand to improse President’s rule in the state he said that there was no legal justification in this. The Samajwadi Party enjoys majority in the state assembly and is working for the welfare of masses.

“Mayawati’s statement was politically loaded. From the day one when SP came to power, the she has been asking for President’s rule. Her demand has no substance,” the SP spokesman said.
