Samajwadi Party and BJP are heading for a showdown

With crucial by-election in Uttar Pradesh just less than a week away, ruling Samajwadi Party and BJP are heading for a showdown with both of them blaming each other for not fulfilling the promises made to the people in the past.

SP spokesperson and UP minister Rajendra Chaudhry in a statement said here on Sunday said that the disclosure of BJP president Amit Shah that BJP will capture UP if communal violence continues in the state highlights the evil design of BJP leadership.“BJP is not at all concerned about the development of the country. It believes in communal politics and it is trying to divide the society on the religious lines. The victory of BJP in recent lok Sabha elections is nothing but a fluke, “ he said.

Chaudhry said people were facing severe hardship due to price rise. Before election BJP leaders were saying that  ‘acche din anne wale hai’ but where is the ace din. The people are facing the brunt because of the misrule of NDA Government, he said.

On the other hand BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak, took strong exception to the statement of Mulayam Singh Yadav in Mainpuri where he had claimed that BJP-led NDA government at the centre has failed to provide relief in last 100 days of its rule.‘ It is just three months but the SP government in UP has not fulfilled any promises even after 2 years of being in power. People are reeling under acute power crisis while the law and order situation in the state has gone out of control,’  Pathak said.

He claimed that the communal violence in the state was on the rise because the Akhilesh Yadav government does not have the political will to catch the real culprits. The State government follows appeasement policy and it is detrimental for the society.UP is going for by-election to one lok Sabha and 11 assembly seats on September 13 in which SP and BJP are in direct fight in most of the seats.
