With his unwavering faith in Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a global platform to the artistes to perform Ramlila in Ayodhya and this year artists from Russia will perform in Ram Nagari.
Under the auspices of India-Russia Friendship Society of Moscow, Ramlila will be staged by a group of 12 Russian artistes.
According to director and producer Dr Rameshwar Singh, Ramlila has been performed in Russia on a very significant scale since 1960.
According to the Russian artistes, Ram's persona is the only source of inspiration for their ongoing growth.
In the Russian Ramlila, Ildar Khusnullin will play Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram. The role of Sita will be played by Milana Bychonek, of Kaushalya by Nadezda Singh, of Sumitra by Rati Kosinova, of Kaikeyi by Gulnara Isakova, of Lakshman by Alexei Fleyjanikav, and of Ravan by Vaychislav Chernyash. Danish Shevtsov will play the role of Dashrath, while Artem Zubkov will play the role of Sugreev, and Kushnerova the role of Lord Hanuman.
Aleksandra Koneva, the co-director, revealed that the performers would stage the Ram-Ravan war, the reunion of Ram and Sita, and Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya in addition to Sita's swayamvar, Kaikeyi's asking for her three ‘vardaans’, Ram-Lakshman and Sita's exile, Sita's abduction, Sita in Lanka, Lord Hanuman going to Lanka, among others in Russian Ramlila.
Dr Rameshwar Singh, president of the Indo-Russian Friendship Association, said that the Yogi government provided him with a platform in India. In 2018, from November 4 to 6, he gave his debut performance at Ayodhya Deepotsav. He was later given the opportunity to act in the 2019 Kumbh in Prayagraj.
Since 2017, Ramlila has been performed by foreign performers each year during Deepotsav. Artistes from eight different nations will once again perform Ramlila in Ram Nagari Ayodhya. Artistes from Russia, Trinidad & Tobago, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Malaysia are among them.
